Dinner Setting Blackwood

Food brings people together and at Blackwood we know how culture is rooted in food and food is rooted in culture. Stories sparkle around the dinner table and shared memories are a glimpse into the life of the storyteller. Food can bring families together and also forges a chosen like-minded community. Skyfarmers Market is a twice a month farmers market that brings fresh and healthy food to a downtown Houston building that gathers a diverse group of cultures. We are excited to share about a couple of events coming up that are all about community, food and sharing stories.

✨Friday, Jan 17- The Gathered Table Dinner,  A Blackwood Winter Silence Supper, where every bite tells a story of our land, our community, and our love for good food. Hosted at Blackwood’s Landfarm in Hempstead, TX. Look out for more farm dinners coming soon.

✨Tuesday, Feb 4, 6:45-9 PM- The Front Porch Series: Sharing Stories about Food, Family, & Urban Farming. Hosted by Blackwood and Houston City Beats at Eden Plant Co, inside POST Houston. 401 Franklin St. All storytellers are welcome to share their stories. Registration is required, free event. Even if you don’t plan to tell a story, join us! Be inspired by the stories of others and connect with our community.
